  • Association Al-Ghadir: Your window on the Lebanese Shia community in Cote d'Ivoire

Their website is not particularly interesting, but came to our attention due to one of their domains being registered to Hizballah-linked in Beirut, despite the organization being based in West Africa., formerly

Their .co domain is currently held by an Australian proxy service, but the previous records reveal a link back to... Iran (not Lebanon):

Registrant is involved in the operation of the following official Hizballah websites (and likely others that have escaped my attention): site of Hizballah's medical services organization (both civilian and military - they make no distinction) one of several sites associated with Hizballah's youth indoctrination program characterized by the Meir Amit ITIC as Hizballah's "...main news site, although its affiliation is not specifically stated."

and as you might expect, this is the site of Hizballah's Martyr's Institution, dedicated to caring for the families of deceased Hizballah combatants (and a branch of an Iranian organization)

As an aside, consider the nature of the sites I just listed. This is why I refer to Hizballah's organizational model as 'Cradle to Martyrdom'. Now, back to Cote d'Ivoire...

    Velayat-e Faqih

Association Al-Ghadir links out from to the official website of Ayatollah Khamenei, indicating that they adhere to Velayat-e Faqih, the ideology of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

When you link to, that means something

Note from the image above that Association Al-Ghadir also maintains a presence on YouTube and Facebook.

      Association Al-Ghadir on social media

Their YouTube account is even less interesting than their website, but for completeness sake:

On Facebook, things get a bit more interesting:

And by interesting, I mean explicitly political (among other things):

The social networks affiliated with Association Al-Ghadir connect the community to Hizballah and other IRGC activists in Lebanon, Syria, various countries in Europe, and South America (notably Brasil).

And speaking of interesting people and their travels...

I couldn't help but notice that in April of this year Association Al-Ghadir gave a token of their appreciation to community member Jawad al-Moussawi.

al-Moussawi is the Director of the newly opened Abidjan office of Middle East Airlines.
